Who I am

The Daley Edit is the sole proprietorship of Daley Jansen, based at Noorderpad 47, 1461 CD Zuidoostbeemster, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 84818883. I am the controller for the data you share through this website or while working with me.

Which data I process

I only process data that is needed to stay in touch with you and to do my work:

• Contact details you share yourself by email, WhatsApp or phone: your name, email address, phone number, company name and the content of your message.
• Data for quotes and invoices: address, company registration number, VAT number and payment details.
• Project material: texts, images and other files you supply for an assignment.
• Photographs from shoots, including images in which people are recognisable.
• Technical data when you visit the website, such as your IP address and browser type, in the server logs.

What I use it for

I use your data only to:

• answer your question and keep in touch about a possible or ongoing assignment,
• prepare a quote and carry out the agreement,
• invoice and comply with my legal record keeping obligations,
• keep the website secure and working.

Legal basis

Processing is based on the performance of a contract (or the steps leading up to it), a legal obligation (the tax retention period) or my legitimate interest in running my business and securing the website. For the use of portrait photos in my portfolio I always ask for permission first.

Cookies and statistics

This website only sets cookies that are needed to make the site work. No analytics or marketing cookies are placed without your prior consent. Should I use statistics or campaigns at some point, you will see a cookie notice in which you choose for yourself. More about this in the cookie statement.

Who I share data with

I never sell your data. I only share it with parties I need to do my work, and only as far as necessary:

• the hosting provider that runs this website and my email (servers within the European Union),
• my accounting software and bank, for invoices and payments,
• a supplier of services that belong to your project, such as a domain registrar or hosting package, and then only what is needed for that.

How long I keep it

Invoices and related data are kept for seven years, the legal period required by the Dutch tax authority. Correspondence about an enquiry that does not lead to an assignment is deleted no later than two years after the last contact. Project files and photos are kept as long as that is useful to you as a client, for instance to deliver images again later, unless you ask me to delete them.

Security

I take appropriate measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (https), two step verification on my accounts and encrypted storage of project files. I am the only person with access to your data.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• see which data I hold about you,
• have that data corrected or deleted,
• restrict or object to processing,
• receive your data in a common file format,
• withdraw consent you have given at any time.

A request or complaint

Email your request to hello@thedaleyedit.nl and I will respond within a month. If you feel I am not handling your data properly, I would like to hear it from you first. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

I may update this statement, for example when I start using a new service. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
